Today is also a perfect time to show two continental weather systems that we can find often. In the picture below we can two swirling occluded fronts in the upper right and upper left. These are called the Newfoundland Low and the Aleutians Low respectively. Due to ocean currents from the Suns energy we tend to see these pressure systems in relatively the same location throughout the year with little variance in between seasons.
The purpose of this blog is to showcase the skills that I have gained while taking Weather and Society 341. Over the course of the semester I will post daily weather updates indicating what is happening in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Gloomy Friday
Well by the looks of it, we will have a gloomy Easter weekend. Nothing to be excited about. A lot of clouds (stratus currently) and not a lot of warmth. It currently feels like 30 and if we are lucky then that will get up to around 46 today with a high of 55 for the weekend. We currently have north northwest winds around 2-4 mph. Not a lot going on round these parts but in the southern U.S. We can see a pretty good storm system along the front of cold air as shown by the map below.
