February 13th.

This detailed weather map shows all the fronts currently occurring in the US and they are labeled as such. This map also shows the direction of winds that occur from high and low pressure systems in the northern hemisphere and where some of the highest winds are located.

This map shows where all the air masses are located in North America and what they are associated with.

In this detailed weather station model map we can that the east coast is getting hit with pretty heavy winds and a very consistent cloud cover.

In the Midwest we can see a little more variation in the station models as the high pressure system definitely is giving us more to look at in terms of diversity in the model. Some highlights are high winds from the south coming over the Dakotas.

In this jet stream map you can clearly see our predominantly westerly winds and how the jet stream comes down from western Canada. Now although you may see some similarities between this map and other wind maps of the surface, be careful for these jet stream winds are happening way higher in the atmosphere that our surface winds.

In this water vapor map you can read it in a couple different ways. You can see how much water vapor is in the air and relate that to precipitation totals. You can also look for patterns spatially and try to figure out what is happening on the larger scale by looking for wind patterns and streaks and by complementing this map with another to really give you something to look at.
